Aged appaloosas in North Carolina need a retirement home.

I have not seen these horses but here is the info the owner has sent:
"Patches is the gelding and my baby, Princess is my husband's mare.
I rescued them both 9 years ago when my husband and I were both atop
of our health and finances but life catches up with everyone sooner or later.
They are both in their late teens early 20's. Both are semi retired due to my
husband and I are failing in health and are no longer able to ride.
Patches is a 16 H gelding good for a laugh or two as he is my prankster, he
loves to pick the pocket of the farrier or steal a hat,
he stands well for most anything
but is afraid of cows so he is not a rodeo boy.
I rescued him 9 years ago from Belmont race track where he was a lead pony for
the race horses; he had a history of founder and has flat feet.
Princess is a 15 h mare. She is a little shy on the ground and is afraid of strangers.
She came from a breeding farm in upstate NY where she had been abandoned in a field.
She took a few months to build up trust but has been a great trail horse for us.
She is leery of new things but if her person is the one introducing her she does fine.
She is very willing with the right person, prefers a soft yet stern person.
Both are western riders. If you know anyone in the Carolinas that may have room for these guys
please contact me at justinkaze2@yahoo.com . Laura"
